Federal Companies Celebrates Director of Corporate Sales Perry Johnson Ahead of His Retirement

(EAST PEORIA, IL) — Federal Companies announced that Director of Corporate Sales Perry Johnson will retire at the end of this year after 24 years with the company.
“To be in corporate sales, you must have patience and be willing to understand ‘no’ is going to be a response more than ‘yes.’ But it's what Perry does with his ‘no’ is what sets him apart,” said Kyle Gorden, Chief Operations Officer at Federal Companies. “He takes ‘no’ as the challenge, not as the end to the possibility.”

After learning the ropes in his family’s moving business, Johnson joined Federal Companies in 2002. With a deeper pool of resources and the green light to develop his corporate sales position as he saw fit, the opportunities for success were abundant. During his tenure, Johnson helped Federal Companies grow its business and earned six different national awards for his sales efforts, including Salesperson of the Year and Top Producer of the Year for Allied Van Lines. He credits his accomplishments to his persistence, continuing to move forward when others quit, never taking setbacks personally, and collaboration at every step.

“Federal was also very careful to have all segments of our business work together with shared objectives,” said Johnson. “If you are going to accept the kind of mission I had, you need support and most importantly, the mindset to be in it for the long haul.”
Beyond his work with Federal Companies, Johnson is deeply involved in Central Illinois and his hometown of Peoria. He serves as President of the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, Vice President of the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, Commissioner for the City of Peoria Public Arts Advisory Commission, Vice President of the Advocates for Access Board of Directors, and a board member for Family Core.

“Community service is not only important; it’s essential for our society to function in the best way,” said Johnson. “Volunteers who ask for nothing except the opportunity to serve have changed our world for the better in countless ways.”
As Johnson’s days with Federal Companies wind down and he looks ahead to spending more time at his condo in Florida, he leaves his Federal family with a few parting words: “I want to thank every one of you for your support over 24 years; without your collective efforts and confidence, plus the hard work of our drivers, helpers, and packers, my success would have been impossible.”
